I am making this post to inform you that I am running for the honorable office of State Master Councilor at our up and coming Conclave this July. During the next month and a half I intend to visit each chapter in order to speak with all of the fine DeMolays in Indiana so that I may better understand what changes you would like to see made during the next year, and what things that you believe that the state could improve on. Indiana has a tradition of excellence that is commonly known in every jurisdiction in the entire country. Your hard work and determination are what makes this organization so incredible. I am asking you to vote for me so that I may assist Indiana in carrying on its tradition of excellence and perhaps even raise the bar for many years to come. I hope to see you all in the final weeks leading up to Conclave 2007. It is once again my pleasure to inform all website users that I have just returned from an INTERNATIONAL DEMOLAY CONGRESS!!!

For those of you who don't know what this is, basically it is just as it sounds, Jurisdictional Officers from nearly all of the states in the U.S. and even some from other countries like Italy, Brazil, Germany and the Philippines come together for one awesome weekend (even though it started on Thursday) to share ideas on things that are working in their regions.

I was particularly excited to see all of the different membership and ritual programs that were presented. Thanks to this positive experience I have been able to come up with a couple of ideas of my own. For instance, how many DeMolays are currently interested in getting new members initiated into their chapters? Hopefully the answer is all of you. Here is a fun and easy way to go about doing just that. I, along with a little of inspiration from our DeMolay brothers in Tennessee, have formulated an easy way for each chapter to host their own rush party in order to show prospects how fun DeMolay really is. I call it Rush Party in a Box!!! Once again this is just as it sounds. Here is the basic run down. If a chapter has planned a rush party for the end of the month but is having a hard time planning it this is all that they would have to do. Call up Dad Koleszar at the foundation, let him know that you are having a hard time planning a rush party, let him know when and where it is at, let the state officers do the rest.

There are two different boxes that each chapter has to choose from, the video game night box, or the movie night box. Each box will contain the basic materials needed for that chapter to host a rush party. The video game box would contain a projector, a system of your choosing, a variety of games, balloons, streamers, cups and candy. The movie box would contain a projector, a Blockbuster gift card, (so that each chapter could pick their own movies) balloons, streamers, cups and candy.

A state officer will be at your chapter meeting the week before the rush party to deliver the box, and the week of your party (if that is OK with your chapter) to talk with your prospects a little bit more about DeMolay, and to return the box.

This is just one of many new ideas that I have come up with in the last several weeks. Again if you have any questions just let me know. I am still traveling around the state to different chapters gathering more and more ideas. See you all soon!!!
