 Biographies

Adam Ira, State Master Councilor
Adam is a Past Master Councilor of Raymond P. Foster chapter in Martinsville.  He joined DeMolay in March of 2003 and was a part of the Grand Master’s Class.  Since that time Adam has devoted many years to the order of DeMolay.

Adam has been recognized for his ritualism many times in his DeMolay career.  He was named ritualist of the year in 2004, that same year the Conclave ritual tournament was named in his honor.  Apart from ritualism, Adam has been named a Representative DeMolay, Chevalier, and is a member of Stanford Lodge #173.  Adam has served for over 5 years as a state officer, mostly working in the background as an appointed officer.
Adam is attending Indiana University, majoring in Communication and Culture and focusing in rhetoric.  After his undergraduate studies are completed, Adam plans to attend law school in the hope of one day becoming a lawmaker or judge.  Adam’s hobbies include automobiles, weightlifting, music, and he is an avid motorcycle rider.

Daniel Hankins, State Senior Councilor

Daniel is a Past Master Councilor of Raymond P. Foster Chapter in Martinsville.  He was initiated in August of 2003 at Yorkrite Chapter in Columbus.  Daniel has been very active in the order over the past 6 years.

 

Daniel is a Representative DeMolay, Chevalier, and a Junior Ritualist.  He has participated in several chapter activities and state activities over the years.  This is the second year for Daniel as a state officer.

Daniel is a freshman at Indiana University where he is majoring in exercise science.  After achieving his undergraduate degree, Daniel plans to attend dentistry school.  His hobbies include fishing, campfires, tennis, music, and just hanging out with friends.



James Gordon, State Junior Councilor

James was the first Master Councilor of the Fort Wayne Chapter's re-birth in 2005.  He was initiated along with twelve others in the Phoenix Class on March 19, 2005 which was the new Fort Wayne Chapter's first Initiation.  He was appointed to be the interim Master Councilor at the Chapter's organizational meeting, and was elected by the members for a full term three months later. That year he received his PMC-MSA and Junior Ritulist along with the Founders Membership Award. In 2006, he was named Fort Wayne Chapter,s DeMolay of The Year.  In 2008, he received the honor of being a Chevalier and he also went back for another term as Master Councilor for Fort Wayne Chapter. During that term, Fort Wayne Chapter received the 2008 Outstanding Chapter award for their creative and complete observance of DeMolay Month in March. This year, James was named the 2009 DeMolay of the Year for Indiana. He also received his Blue Honor Key. James has been a State Officer going on four years and is now serving as the 2009 State Junior Councilor. He is also a Member of Wayndale Lodge No. 739.



Nathan Bryant, State Scribe-Treasurer

SarahBeth Scanland, State Sweetheart
SarahBeth Scanland is the Past Chapter Sweetheart from Indianapolis Chapter. During her year as a Chapter Sweetheart, she assisted them in planning a very successful Sweetheart Dance, attended chapter meetings, activities and signed a petition.

She is in her fourth semester at IVY Tech, studying for a degree in Non-Profit Business Management.  Her goal is to someday work for the Girl Scouts.

SarahBeth comes from a strong Masonic background. She is a Job’s Daughters Past Honored Queen, Majority Member, Council Member and Past Miss Indiana Congeniality. She is currently a member of West Newton’s Eastern Star chapter
