Ryan Ahearn, State Master Councilor
Ryan is a Past Master Councilor of William G. Morgan Chapter
in Greenwood. He joined DeMolay in October of 2004 and,
along with his brother, Joel, was in the initial group of the reconstituted
chapter. Throughout his years in the chapter, he has been very active in
helping to bring in new members and in being a leader for the entire chapter.
Ryan and fellow chapter member David Uhlenhake helped lead
the chapter as Master Councilors to Indiana Chapter of the Year recognition for
2005-06. He has earned the PMC-MSA,
Representative DeMolay award and Blue Honor Key. Ryan has been honored as a Chevalier, and was
also named Indiana DeMolay of the Year for 2008. He has been a state officer for three years,
and has traveled extensively throughout the state assisting chapters.
Ryan is a student at IUPUI, where he intends to major in
secondary education in the hope of eventually teaching U.S. history at
the high school level. He loves to play
and watch sports, and is an avid fan of IU athletics and the Tennessee
Titans. He also enjoys the
character-building experience of being a Chicago Cubs fan.
James Hutchison, State Senior Councilor
A member of Indianapolis Chapter, James has been a strong,
active leader there for four years, and even helped his chapter earn the
distinction of Indiana Chapter of the Year for 2007-08. He served as State Junior Councilor this past
year.
James hopes to become an engineer, and is attending Ivy Tech
Community College, where
he is pursuing an associate degree in civil engineering technology. Outside of DeMolay, James is active in his
church and enjoys spending time with his friends. He is a hard worker and
is looking forward to a successful year as State Senior Councilor.
Logan Abell, State Junior Councilor
Logan
joined DeMolay in June of 2006. He was
one of the original nine members of Hendricks County Chapter. Soon after joining, he became active in the
leadership of the chapter and served as Master Councilor for a year.
After his stint as Master Councilor, Logan decided to run for State
Scribe-Treasurer at the 2007 Conclave, and he won. Logan
continues to work hard with his chapter in helping to plan events and in
assisting the members with anything they need.
He is a senior at Plainfield
High School. After graduating, Logan plans to attend IUPUI, but is undecided
about a major at this point.
Mathew Betzler, State Scribe-Treasurer
After joining Indianapolis Chapter along with his younger
brother in 2004, Mathew went on to became a state officer in 2005, and has
served ever since. He was installed as
Master Councilor of his chapter in 2007, and currently serves as the chapter's
Sentinel.
Mathew graduated in 2007 from Warren
Central High
School in Indianapolis,
where he was part of the television crew.
He is currently a sophomore at Ball
State University
at Muncie where
he is studying telecommunications.
