Ryan Ahearn, State Master Councilor

Ryan is a Past Master Councilor of William G. Morgan Chapter in Greenwood.  He joined DeMolay in October of 2004 and, along with his brother, Joel, was in the initial group of the reconstituted chapter. Throughout his years in the chapter, he has been very active in helping to bring in new members and in being a leader for the entire chapter.

Ryan and fellow chapter member David Uhlenhake helped lead the chapter as Master Councilors to Indiana Chapter of the Year recognition for 2005-06.  He has earned the PMC-MSA, Representative DeMolay award and Blue Honor Key.  Ryan has been honored as a Chevalier, and was also named Indiana DeMolay of the Year for 2008.  He has been a state officer for three years, and has traveled extensively throughout the state assisting chapters.

Ryan is a student at IUPUI, where he intends to major in secondary education in the hope of eventually teaching U.S. history at the high school level.  He loves to play and watch sports, and is an avid fan of IU athletics and the Tennessee Titans.  He also enjoys the character-building experience of being a Chicago Cubs fan.

James Hutchison
, State Senior Councilor

A member of Indianapolis Chapter, James has been a strong, active leader there for four years, and even helped his chapter earn the distinction of Indiana Chapter of the Year for 2007-08.  He served as State Junior Councilor this past year.

James hopes to become an engineer, and is attending Ivy Tech Community College, where he is pursuing an associate degree in civil engineering technology.  Outside of DeMolay, James is active in his church and enjoys spending time with his friends.  He is a hard worker and is looking forward to a successful year as State Senior Councilor.

Logan Abell, State Junior Councilor

Logan joined DeMolay in June of 2006.  He was one of the original nine members of Hendricks County Chapter.  Soon after joining, he became active in the leadership of the chapter and served as Master Councilor for a year.

After his stint as Master Councilor, Logan decided to run for State Scribe-Treasurer at the 2007 Conclave, and he won.  Logan continues to work hard with his chapter in helping to plan events and in assisting the members with anything they need.  He is a senior at Plainfield High School.  After graduating, Logan plans to attend IUPUI, but is undecided about a major at this point.

Mathew Betzler, State Scribe-Treasurer

After joining Indianapolis Chapter along with his younger brother in 2004, Mathew went on to became a state officer in 2005, and has served ever since.  He was installed as Master Councilor of his chapter in 2007, and currently serves as the chapter's Sentinel.

Mathew graduated in 2007 from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, where he was part of the television crew.  He is currently a sophomore at Ball State University at Muncie where he is studying telecommunications.
